2011 NOCC walk RI

Sunday was a beautiful day.

At 9:30 a.m. I met up with my team, team Va-Va, to walk at Roger Williams Park and raise awareness for Ovarian cancer.

It was the first time in four years that we had nice weather. And by nice I mean sunny AND warm!
The previous three years have been damp with rain which doesn’t get people motivated to get out of bed on a Sunday to walk three miles.

It was truly a delight to see so many people come out in support of this cause this year. Matter of fact it was the biggest turnout yet for the Rhode Island chapter. 🙂

I walk in memory of my Aunt who was also my Godmother. She passed away 4 years ago this November. She was young, 60s, a terrific nurse for over 25 years at Kent County hospital, a wife, mother, and grandmother.
