1 day and counting…EEK!!

So today is going to be nuts!

Yesterday was the calm before the storm so to speak because I had a day of no party planning. I got to spend a lot of good quality time with GiGi and we took advantage of the mild November day with a walk to the playground for some swinging fun. I’ve been spending so much time party planning these past few weeks that G and I haven’t had as much mommy-baby time as we usually do.

First thing I have to do today is make the royal icing for all 40 owl cookie favors. Then I will start frosting them. I have 4 colors to apply to each so this will be an ongoing process today and tomorrow. I can not wait to show you pics!! Eek!

DH works a wacky teaching schedule today so after his morning class we will me at my parents house to commence the decorating. My mom has taken the day off to finish up cleaning and help decorate. Yay Gram!

Then it’s off to the grocery store to pick up the last of the ingredients for the feast I’ve been cooking for this party.

Back home again to prep a quick dinner so DH can get out the door for his night class. (I hate Thursdays) Then I’ll get GiGi ready for bed and continue decorating cookie favors. ::sniffle:: No Twitter parties tonight. ::sad-face:: I really hope to get these all finished by mid-day Friday so I can package them up and check them off my list! Friday is a whole other list, but we will get back to that later.

Man I hope this day goes just as I’ve planned it in my mind! Im scheduling this post because I just don’t know how I’ll find time to be online today.

I just can’t wait to see how GiGi is going to respond when we walk into the party on Saturday!! I’m sure she will be just as overwhelmed as I am.

Do any of you have first birthday stories you would like to share? Are you planning a first birthday? I would love to read them.

  1. Aw! So exciting!

  2. I always loved taking their photo on their birthday when they first awoke in the crib. Savor the moments!
