Happy 175th Anniversary Tiffany & Co. #RUBEDO #MothersDay

You may have heard me mention my affection for Tiffany & Co. before.
Well, do you know the history behind that famous Tiffany & Co. blue?

In short, way back in 1845, the color known as “Tiffany Blue” was selected by founder Charles Lewis Tiffany for the cover of Blue Book, Tiffany’s annual collection of exquisitely handcrafted jewels. Tiffany Blue, which may have been chosen because of the popularity of the turquoise gemstone in 19th-centruy jewelry, was later adopted for use on Tiffany shopping bags, as well as in advertising and other promotional materials.

To celebrate the 175th anniversary, Tiffany & Co. has created a new metal, RUBEDO™.   This new jeweler’s metal is the first such creation in Tiffany’s history and takes its place among the most beautiful metals in the world. This new metal marries the richness of gold, the brilliance of silver, and the warmth of copper.  RUBEDO is entering Boston-area Tiffany stores this month, a perfect new spring accessory!

So, with that in mind, Mother’s Day is just around the corner {save the date, its Sunday, May 13th}. Maybe you want to remind a special someone how much they mean to you by giving them a special gift in that famous blue box?

My mom and mother-in-law are both very dear to me. This would be a great way for me to show them how important they are in our lives and give them something to remind them of us since we are moving away. The Tiffany 1837 collection is a limited-edition series. What a great piece to pass down from generation to generation. That is my favorite kind of jewelry–a piece with history and meaning. Pieces from this collection start at just $200. I’ve picked out some of my favorites.

  1. Love me some Tiffanys! All these pieces are gorgeous!!!

  2. Gorgeous! I only have one necklace from Tiffany's but it's one of my favorites. Love the items you've picked out.

  3. Oh that cuff is gorgeous!! I love cuffs..its all you need. Love the pieces..too bad itll be out of my budget for quite some time. ;)

  4. I've never received any jewelry from Tiffany's but our builder did give us champagne flutes from Tiffany's when we closed on our previous house. Would it be weird to say I love the box a little more than the flutes? :)
