How Do You Do Family Game Night? #DipDipHooray #CBias

Before we were a family of three, T.J. and I hosted a monthly game night with several of our friends on a monthly basis. We had tons of snacky food and fun drinks while we played a board game or Wii game with our friends. We never started the night until after 7PM and always played and laughed well after midnight. That went on for a good three years after we were married.

Once G came along, game night totally got tossed to the curb. Its hard to find that balance of mommy/daddy/friend time when you are walking around like a zombie and have some kind of spit up or poop on your clothes.

Now that G is rounding the bend to age 2 {gulp} she is super interactive, and we can play games together as a family. Hasbro is a name that is close to my heart. As a gal who grew up in Rhode Island, Hasbro headquarters was just a 15 minute ride away from my parents’ home. I remember going on a field trip once as a Girl Scout and taking a tour of the facility. Each girl left with a My Little Pony and each boy with a GI Joe. I will never forget that trip, and I will always have a connection with Hasbro.

Hasbro has a ton of family games to choose from and there is something for all ages. I know we live in the digital age, but there is just something about disconnecting and playing a good ol’ fashioned board game. T.J. and I don’t have cable TV, so we often turn to games like Monopoly to pass the time in the evening after G goes down for the night.

We have been visiting in Rhode Island since Wednesday…our last trip of the summer to visit family and friends and take in some of our favorite local activities and food. I packed a Hasbro board game I got from my trip to BlogHer in NYC a couple weeks back, knowing that it would be something fun G could play with her Grandparents on a rainy day. Elefun Snacking’ Safari did just the trick.

So cute to serve on the little animal plates I bought!

We needed a little snack after our game so we headed to our local Walmart to see what we could get.  In the frozen foods section we found Tysons chicken nuggets, Ore Ida French Fries, and some Heinz ketchup…classic snack foods that everyone can enjoy in just minutes. I just love how delicious and easy to prepare these foods are. The fries are extra crispy and the chicken nuggets are crispy and tender. And, I actually cooked the fries and nuggets longer than the package recommended to get them even crispier!

To see our shopping trip you can view my Google+ photo album. And, lucky for us, each of these foods gives us the chance to win a $1,000 Hasbro game night by playing Dip Dip Hooray! It’s easy to play. All you have to do is sign up at the Dip Dip Hooray website and enter UPC codes from the participating packaging, like you see here:

Our snack was delicious, the game was fun and silly, and everyone had a great time on that rainy summer day.

You can connect with Heinz on Facebook and Twitter, Tyson on Facebook and Twitter, & Ore Ida on Facebook.
