So we went and picked up “the dude” today in Newtown, CT. I really love this part of CT and could totally picture myself living there. More on that another time.
So far the hardest challenge has been trying to get G to give him his own space. She is totally overwhelmed and excited, but its like she doesn’t know how to show it. So far she waves her arms around and throws toys at him. He doesn’t seem to mind one bit. When we put him into the crate to nap and also to start his crate training G didn’t want him in there. She cried real tears and we had to reassure her that he needed a nap.
It’s like our toddler flipped places with the dog. Dog is going outside to do his business, but tonight G peed on the carpet in her room. Dog is listening to commands, but G isn’t listening at all. Maybe having a puppy will be easier than having a toddler?
T.J. and I are a bit rusty on our puppy skills, but today most of the cobwebs cleared out and we snapped right back into the swing of things.
Hopefully I’ll be able to get some photos tomorrow, but trying to take a picture of a puppy dashing around and a toddler chasing it is no simple feat. I did snag a few quick videos on my trusty iPhone.
