In case you were wondering why my blog posts have been all over the place…or not…it’s because last Wednesday we loaded up the car and headed to Rhode Island for one last summer hurrah. We had all these plans of going to the beach and hitting up all our favorite restaurants, but I have been fighting a nasty hacking cough and cold for over a week. Nothing like a summer cold to boost your spirits. So, most of the plans that we had fell by the wayside, and we spent most of our time just hanging out with our families. Not a terrible thing, but not what our expectations were. We did go to a fabulous wedding in Newport this past Saturday night. We left a bit early, but it was fun nonetheless. Oh, and G took her first ride on a carousel at Roger Williams Park.
We are home a day early. We planned on coming back to New York tomorrow, but T.J. and I were just done. The fall semester starts next week at Iona, and he needs a bit of prep time before that. This summer has been non stop since we moved in May and basically we are just exhausted. Fall is our favorite time of year, and we just can’t wait to feel that brisk chill in the air.

We are in that mode too! I am thinking one last weekender this week to kiss the summer goodbye! I am not ready for winter (ever) but I am looking forward to fall.
