From the day we brought G home from the hospital she has been swaddled. Everyone and anyone told us that she would like to be wrapped up like a burrito and they were right. Although my mom swears by the fact that she put a blanket in the crib for me to sleep with as an infant I wan’t into the idea and wasn’t going to do the same. And, after attending several birth prep classes at the hospital before G’s birth I was certain I didn’t want to use a blanket in the crib.
I was given several HALO SleepSack Swaddles at my baby shower. And I was so thankful I did. The SleepSack swaddle is so easy I could easily wrap G up in it in the middle of the night when I was walking around like a zombie mom half asleep. The HALO Swaddle is super soft and kept her warm, and safe while she slept. There are both 100% cotton and micro-fleece so you can choose what works best to keep your baby warm. In the summer we use the cotton SleepSack over t-shirt and short PJ’s and in the winter we use the fleece over long cotton PJ’s.
Do you know she has been sleeping in one ever since we brought her home from the hospital? Yep…for nearly two years now she has gone to bed every night in a HALO SleepSack. She has no interest in blankets and I can sleep through the night without worrying that she is somehow tangled up in a blanket.
The SleepSacks come in a variety of sizes. When G started standing up in her crib and walking I transitioned her to the Early Walker SleepSack. I was thrilled to learn that they had something like this because even though there is a really generous amount of room at the bottom of the sack, once G got those feet moving she wanted them to be free.
The HALO® SleepSack® wearable blanket replaces loose blankets in the crib that can cover your baby’s face and interfere with breathing. In addition to sleeping more safely, it helps babies and toddlers sleep better, too. It’s a warm cuddly blanket they can’t kick off; ensuring little ones stay covered all night long. With its unique foot openings, the HALO SleepSack Early Walker wearable blanket allows for greater mobility while babies are awake, but also keeps little feet covered and warm while sleeping.
