NEOSPORIN ESSESTIALS | The Skincare Solution For Eczema

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of NEOSPORIN® ESSENTIALS™. All opinions are 100% mine.

My husband has terrible eczema…terrible. Its all over his hands and only started appearing about three years ago. At first we didn’t know what it was and were trying to figure out how to treat it. He tried several lotions and nothing really seemed to work.

After enough pain and suffering he decided to make an appointment with a dermatologist. It was then confirmed that it was indeed eczema.

Eczema:

  • A chronic inflammation of the skin characterized by dry, itchy skin and visible skin rash.

The dermatologist prescribed a pretty strong steroid and T.J. applied it as needed, which was pretty often. The unfortunate side affects of the steroid is that one its applied you can’t really do anything with your hands for about a half an hour while the medicine does its work. And, it really thins the layers of skin on your hands, since in this case that is where my husbands eczema is.

Fast forward to this year when we relocated from Rhode Island to New York.

T.J.’s hands were a total mess. The worse they had even been. Between the brutal heat of the summer and dealing with all the paper and cardboard that we had to pack and then unpack it really did a job on his poor hands.

We were kind of at a loss since we didn’t know about any doctors in our area {yet} and knowing that it was eczema T.J. wanted to see if there was anything he could try over the counter before having to see a dermatologist.

We were excited to find new NEOSPORIN® ESSENTIALS™ at our local CVS/Pharmacy. It was practically like seeing water in the dessert. This line is created specifically for eczema. There is a daily moisturizing cream, a daily body wash, and hydrocortisone anti-itch cream.

At first we purchased the hydrocortisone anti-itch cream.

NEOSPORIN® ECZEMA ESSENTIALS™ 1% Hydrocortisone Anti-itch Cream contains a dual-action formula that provides fast relief of itch and that moisturizes to restore visibly healthier skin.

  • Provides fast itch relief when an eczema flare arises
  • Clinically shown to improve dryness, flaking, and the appearance of redness
  • Maximum strength itch relief due to eczema flare-ups
  • Fragrance-free
  • Contains no antibiotics
  • Dermatologist tested

If you or someone you know suffers from eczema, I encourage you to try this line of products or visit the NEOSPORIN® ESSENTIALS™ website where you can learn more about living with and treating eczema. There are also valuable coupons available.

I’m pretty sure we will be ordering the rest of the product line in the near future {from Amazon}. T.J. has since seen a dermatologist here in New York who prescribed an even more powerful steroid cream, but its nice to know that there is a product line he can use to keep his symptoms from getting to the point where he can only find relief in the harsh prescription medication.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Comments

  1. Do they have a kids formula?? I hate to always have to use the steroid cream on Charlotte for her flare-ups. I’d love an alternative if it’s able to be used on kids!

  2. I was just going to ask what Jen did about Neosporin for kids? My Chloe had eczema for a while as a baby and I want to be ready if baby #2 has similar issues. It took me forever to find something that kind of worked. Would love it if this could be used on the little ones.

  3. I love this brand. Neosporin products are the best. We had an alpine sliding accident/incident in Breckenridge this summer and that stuff was the ONLY thing that made my daughter feel better. Poor thing had scrapes EVERYWHERE. She is 8 and it worked like a charm.

  4. I was looking at that in the store, I’ll have to go back and get it. My daughter and I have patches of eczema.

  5. I myself have eczema…it’s awful!!!

  6. I’m a huge Neosporin fan, and prone to eczema flare ups with my allergies, so I’m totally pinning this to remember for the spring!

  7. Ugh, that sounds painful! Glad to know this works should I ever have eczema or someone I know needs some relief from it!

  8. I need to try neosporin on Zane! I tried it on Hayley when she has a bad cut, and it worked wonderfully! Off to by more Neosporin!

  9. Who knew Neosporin had so many different uses/formulas. Thanks so much for sharing, Winter skin is the worst!
