Pregnant Snacks…that’s where I’m at.
There is just no way I am eating as well as I did during my first pregnancy as I am now. With a toddler to chase, a puppy to watch and everything else that gets in the way during the day, sitting down to a meal isn’t always an option. I always sit down for dinner, and usually by then I am famished. So, what’s a Mama to do? Have yummy and healthy snacks that are readily available when hunger strikes.
- Tons of fruit. Just today I went to do our weekly grocery shopping and bought already prepared fresh pineapple, mango, and cantaloupe. I also bought bananas, strawberries, grapes and blueberries. Fruit is such an easy and healthy snack.
- Yogurt! Chobani and any most other yogurt is a favorite in this house. I add it and eat it with everything including granola. I can easily whip up a smoothie in a couple minutes with yogurt and frozen or fresh fruit.
- Luna bars. These bars are my favorite pregnant or not. They are very satisfying, come in a variety of flavors, are easy to store, and are super affordable at just about a dollar. My favorite flavor of the moment is chocolate dipped coconut. You can often find several in my diaper bag or purse.
- Cheese. I absolutely love cheese, but who doesn’t right? A slice of cheese or some string cheese is a good quick way to grab a bit of protein and satisfy a salty craving.
- Trader Joe’s Rainbow Trail Mix. This mix has raisins, peanuts, almonds, and chocolate covered candies {m&m’s}. I like to have at least a handful of nuts a day and nuts are a great source of protein and good fats.
And, if G happens to see me eating any of these I don’t feel horrible if she wants to share. Better than me binging on a bag of chips or something. We will leave that up to T.J. since his pregnant snacking is a whole other blogpost!

Ummm…those sound like FANTASTIC snacks! I would totally come have a snack with you!
Way to go! Such a great list of HEALTHY snacks. Thank you!
Great list of snacks!!
I used to keep a drawer stuffed with snacks when I worked full-time out of the house. Pregnant was no exception – tea, biscuits, almonds, raisins, granola bars, energy bars, cereal, peanut butter…alright, now I need to go get something to eat.
You are SO much healthier than I was with my second pregnancy. I think I lived on fast food. YUCK! Good for you, Mama!
Now I am hungry
I am a huge fan of trail mix, pregnant or not. Such a filling and satisfying snack!
I am so hungry now and I am not pregnant. I love some trail mix! YUM!
Love these suggestions! Healthy, satisfying and easy to grab and go. Thanks for sharing!
I love Luna bars, too! I love snacks that you don’t feel guilty eating!
I forgot how much I like Luna bars. I haven’t bought them in ages. Pre-cut fruit is one of my splurges at Whole Foods. I don’t know why but we always eat more when I don’t have to cut it up!
Those are some great healthy snacks!!! Also? If I could live on cheese, I would. Along with ice cream. And cupcakes.
Clearly my snack choices are not as healthy as yours!
YUM. Good choice of snacks, my friend. Your baby will thank you!
PS- I could survive solely on cheese, too. We always have string cheese and blocked cheese in our house!
Yea, pretty much cheese is AWESOME!
I’m all about this list, except the Luna Bars. I don’t know why… I just don’t like them. Fruits and trail mix though… those are my big ones.
I’m keeping these in mind for the next time I get pregnant (hopefully later this year!). I know it’s going to be harder to get good foods in next time around, as I will have a toddler in tow as well.
These are my kind of snacks preggo or not! I also like hummus with pita chips, celery & peanut butter and apples with peanut butter. Yum!
Oh yes. Hummus is another good one!
Yum to everything! Now I’m hungry
