Mothers Day! 10 FREE Ways to Celebrate Mom

Mothers Day is in just one week! Somehow I had forgotten, but when my mother-in-law was here visiting last week she gave me a gift and card. And, at first I thought it was going to be a gift for the new babe but then I read the card and was like, “oh yeah, Mother’s Day!” Plus, T.J.’s birthday usually falls within the same week, if not right in the same day so we are usually focused on that.

I’m pretty laid back when it comes to holidays like this. I don’t want a big fuss, just to be home with the family is good enough for me. Kept things simple and I’m a happy Mama.

I thought it would be fun to come up with a list of things I would like, and maybe you too, that are free but also make mom feel special.

1. Let mom sleep in.
2. Make mom her coffee and breakfast and serve it to her in bed.
3. A homemade card.
4. Absolutely no chores for Mom all day.
5. Let mom take a long bubble bath or shower. Alone.
6. A picnic lunch at the playground or nice outdoor spot.
7. Pajama day all day and a family nap in mom and dads big, comfy bed.
8. Give mom a few hours to herself to read her favorite book, watch her favorite shows or work on her favorite hobby.
9. Ice cream sundae bar for dinner! {I’m pregnant so this might just be for me.}
10. Lots of hugs, kisses and cuddles! 🙂

So, what is your favorite way to celebrate Mother’s Day? Would any of these ideas work for you?

Comments

  1. Yes! Exactly. All I want is to be able to sleep in and to not cook for the entire day.

  2. I like your free ways to celebrate…especially sleeping in, having some me time, and it just being a peaceful day with family.
