Wordless Wednesday :: Beardsleys Cider Mill and Orchard
This past Sunday was our first trip to a local apple orchard to pick our share! Now that we live in Connecticut there are different varieties of apples including Jonagold, Mutsu, Winesap, Enterprise, and Goldbush. Rhode Island has a different selection so it was fun to see and taste the “new to us” varieties!
Beardsley’s Orchard is the next town over from us in Shelton, CT and only a 15 minute ride from our house. The sun was shining and the temperature was perfect too.
The orchard is a great place for families. In additional to apple picking, they have a bakery which sells the most amazing warm cider donuts, pies, cookies, breads, cakes, and cider! We will certainly be going back for more of everything!
Apple picking is weekends, Saturday and Sunday from 10am-5pm starting the weekend of September 14th. You will want to check their Facebook page for the most up to date picking information.
