My job to my two gals is not glamorous. Meaning, I wipe bums, run errands, preschool drop off and pickup, cook meals, you know…those mundane tasks that make the house a home. I love that I get to stay home with them, but it leaves me looking pretty meh.

This year, I want to feel better about myself and one way to do that is to spend a little more time on my day to day appearance. My uniform is leggings, jeans, hoodies, and sweaters. Most mornings I do a quick face wash and apply my moisturizer and primer/sunscreen and I’m ready to go.

I really want to make the effort to take a couple more minutes and add a little makeup. Nothing crazy, just a little mascara, blush, and lipgloss type of routine. It’s funny, on the weekends I take the time to really do my makeup and my three year old loves to sit in the bathroom with me and watch. Then she will turn to me and say, “Mommy, I LOVE your beautiful makeup, you look so beautiful.” I love                                                                                   these little mommy/daughter moments.

The drugstore brand that I’ve turned to since my high school days has always been L’Oreal. Seriously, I have never worn another mascara and I’ve tried others, but nothing really compares, in my opinion.

This weekend I headed over to Walgreens {my ultimate beauty destination} for a few things and happened to check out the L’Oreal section of the beauty department. I noticed a new mascara, L’Oreal Voluminous Butterfly, and had to try it. I mean, okay, I bought a few other L’Oreal products too to speed up this morning routine that I want to become a habit.

L’Oreal Voluminous Butterfly:

  • With a new asymmetrical brush unlike anything on the market and a silky fiber formula, this revolutionary mascara stretches and extends lashes for a bold, winged-out effect.
  • What truly sets this mascara apart is its breakthrough brush: The Butterfly Brush™. A first for L’Oréal Paris, this asymmetrical, ergonomic, wing-tip brush with flexible arches is designed to lift the outer corner lashes for a flared effect.” The uniquely-shaped brush features tightly-packed bristles that work to trap lashes and extend them outward from corner to corner. Voluminous Butterfly Mascara utilizes a silky formula containing 1.2MM fibers that instantly coat lashes in a soft, delicate veil for longer-looking lashes with up to 6X the volume.
  • Priced at just $8.99!
