The PIGEON Needs A Bath // Book Review and Giveaway!

Disclosure: I received one or more of the products mentioned  for free. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

I am so excited to share with you the news that Mo Willems has added another book to the amazing PIGEON series! Last year I told you about the book, Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus, which quickly became our favorite book to read. Its still one of our top 10 for sure and now G can practically read it to us!

Available on April 1, the newest book in the Pigeon series will debut, The Pigeon Needs a Bath! 🙂 I am pretty excited about this new book because we are going through another crazy phase here with G. When there once was a time she begged and look forward to baths, the tables have turned and now its more like torture for all of us. I’m not sure what changed or where it went all wrong. I am convinced that it might be due to the long, cold winter we are having. I mean, we all know what its like to get out from a hot shower only to be covered in goose bumps with the shivers! Burr. We have lessened the amounts of baths G takes, for all of our sanity. What once was a relaxing time is just stress and anxiety. I’ll announce that its bath time and G will start telling me how she doesn’t need a bath and then the BIG question of whether or not I will wash her hair. Of course I am washing your hair I tell her, its part of bath time. She is running for the hills! LOL

Now that I can bathe both ladies together, G is starting to get excited and more comfortable with bath time again. At least now she has a distraction, her little sister. Whew.

As soon as this book was delivered I showed it to G. “Look, a new Pigeon book and its about how he needs to take a bath!” She was SO excited and quickly ran for the other Pigeon book. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I love the illustrations, and the story is just awesome. I’m glad to expand our collection. Our family LOVES the Mo Willems books!

ABOUT THE BOOK – Millions of copies sold, the Pigeon Series has enchanted young readers for the last decade! In the 8th picture book in the series, the Pigeon really needs a bath! Except, the Pigeon’s not so sure about that. Besides, he took a bath last month! Maybe. It’s going to take some serious convincing to try and get the Pigeon to take the plunge.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR – Mo Willems, a number one New York Times best-selling author and illustrator, has been awarded a Caldecott Honor on three occasions (forDon’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Tale, and Knuffle Bunny Too: A Case of Mistaken Identity). Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! was also an inaugural inductee into the Indies Choice Picture Book Hall of Fame. And his celebrated Elephant & Piggieearly-reader series has been awarded the Theodor Seuss Geisel Medal on two occasions (for There Is a Bird on Your Head! and Are You Ready to Play Outside?) as well as three Honors (for We Are in a Book!I Broke My Trunk!, and Let’s Go for a Drive!). Other favorites include Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed and City Dog, Country Frog, illustrated by Jon J Muth. Mo lives in Massachusetts with his family.
