It is FINALLY Spring-like weather here in Connecticut. We have waited a long time to feel the warm sun, watch the snow disappear for good, ditch the coats, and get outside!
This year will be different for us when we hit up the local parks and playgrounds. I am totally outnumbered three to one. All the kids are running in different directions and for the most part we have ditched the stroller (sad since that was my mule for hauling gear). Now, I need to carry all the things for this nice days out at the park. Yikes!
I keep a large canvas bag in the van with a spare change of clothing for each kid, diapers, wipes, diaper cream, a first aid kit, hats, sunscreen, dry snacks like Goldfish crackers and an assortment of little toys. This keep me prepared for anything so I’m not packing and repacking a bag every day while also remembering to put in back in the van. I usually just need to grab drinks for each of us and we are set.
A day at the playground or park – I usually need a bag with me and the kids to keep my keys, our drinks, and light snacks within reach. I sure as heck am not going to have a bag I need to hand carry. I need my hands free.
Can you believe with three kids I’ve never had a true diaper bag? I know, might sound crazy. But, when I had my first baby in 2010 baby gear was just starting to evolve into the industry it is today. I didn’t like the *typical* options offered in the baby box stores so I just made a tote into a baby bag. No fancy compartments, no changing pad, no bells and whistles. I also only had the one kid so no big deal and I always had my stroller. Ya know, first time mom and needed all my *stuff* including the stroller that I pushed without a kid in it!
But here I am with three kids ages 6, nearly 4, and 2.5 and it was time to find a diaper bag that I could wear like a backpack. I turned to the Baby Cubby (an online site with the best of everything baby) and easily navigated my way to finding the perfect diaper bag. Their site made it easy to narrow my choices down to what I wanted in a bag. I had heard good things about the Ju Ju Be bags and once I saw the The First Lady in the black and white stripes I knew we were going to be a perfect match. I can wear this bag as a messenger, cross-body, or backpack. I love the style and how at first glance it doesn’t look like a diaper bag! The Ju Ju Be First Lady has been a great addition to our day trips! This bag easily fits a water bottle for each of us, diaper and wipes, diaper cream, snacks, toys, my key and phone all with room to spare! A place for everything and everything in its place.
