We are less than a month away from the first day of summer – not that I’m counting or anything! Last week we had a teaser of what is to come with several days of 90 degree temperatures. It felt great – I’m not going to complain after the long winter. The kids were asking to go to the beach – we went to the zoo instead! I also brought out a lot of our summer toys including a water table that Valentina got for her third birthday. It keeps the kids (all of them) occupied for hours! Why do kids love playing around in water so much? I don’t know, but if they are happy so am I.
Water play and warmer days means socks and sneakers are not an option. My husband and I aren’t fans of flip flops since they don’t protect the feet at all and offer no support. My kids are active. One minute they are scootering, the next they are running up the ladder to the tree house and then back to the water table. I need them to be wearing a supportive shoe, that can transition from one activity to another, but that can also get wet and keep their feet cool.
The Stride Rite Phibian Water Shoes are the perfect fit! Get it?! Haha! The Phibian is a kids’ shoe that is made for land, sea, and everything in between. It is machine washable, has a slip resistant sole, is quick drying, and best of all they can put it on and off all by themselves!
Valentina is wearing the little kids Stride Rite Phibian Girls Rainbow. She loves that this shoes is glittery and more like a sandal than a sneaker. She wears a size 7 and I would say that this shoe runs true to size. If we have a cooler Spring day she can wear this shoe with a light sock as well and still be comfortable. I was able to get this same shoe style for both my girls which they love and I love. Sizing ranges from little kids size four up to big kids size 13.
I think this mary-jane style is perfect for my girls who like to wear shorts one day and a dress or skirt the next. It is the style of shoe that looks great with both and the silver-glittery color matches just about anything.
Anthony is wearing the little kids Stride Rite Phibian that has the more traditional look of a sneaker. Super lightweight, at 2.5 years old easy for him to slide his foot in and velcro. This is great for getting three kids out the door early in the morning for a long fun filled summer day at the beach, park, backyard, or pool!
Here Anthony is at the zoo last week – it was 90 degrees before noon and my little explorer was climbing all the exhibits and doing a ton of walking while his feet stayed cool and comfortable.
