Friday Favorites – A Roundup of My Favorite Things
Well, here we are. We made it to Friday. That HAS to count for something! I hope you had a good week! I want to share a few of my favorite things with you! Things that I am loving right now!
Last weekend we had our annual family photos taken. I am obsessed with the sneak peek from our most talented and FAVORITE Connecticut photographer, Marisa Leigh Photography.
Hands down it has been a tough week here at home. Hell, last week was rough too. We seemed to make it through the whole month of September without incident, but once we flipped the calendar to October the you know what hit the fan.
The back to school GERMS hit with full force. First, taking down my little guy with a stomach bug and second HFM took out Valentina which then took out Anthony AGAIN and Gabriella. Damn the hand foot and mouth is contagious!
I am worn the heck out. And pretty tired of being in my house with cranky sick kids. There comes a point where your patience is just so low – you are exhausted – and just have nothing left. I’m at that point.
I am thankful for the SHAMROCK FARMS ready made cold brew coffee milk I impulsed-purchased on Wednesday during a quick in and out at my local Stop & Shop. I usually don’t drink more than one coffee a day, but these long days at home with sick kids leave me needing an afternoon BOOST!
But, things are turning around. First off, it is Friday! WOOHOO! The kids fevers are GONE! That is amazing because all that is left is the rash. And that means they are on the mend!
Did you know October is MERLOT month? Heck yes it is! And, I am going to be sharing with you some of my favorite Merlot picks over the next few weeks. Over the past few days I’ve gotten several bottles from ROMBAUER vineyards in Napa Valley, CA. Can’t wait to pop some bottles. Red wine is my favorite!
I got a new cookbook to try out! I’ve been in a meal-planning rut and am looking for new recipes that are also quick, easy and delicious! Isn’t that always the goal? Have you heard of sheet pan suppers? Basically you throw a bunch of delicious things on a sheet pan and it all cooks at once! Easy prep and clean up! SHEET PAN SUPPERS MEATLESS, by Raquel Pelzel has me excited to fire up the oven. Keep reading here next week for an awesome giveaway that includes this book!
I hope you have a great weekend! Looks like we will be rained in here in Connecticut as we get the remnants of Hurricane Nate. Let me know some of your recent favorite things!
