My Holiday Cards from Tiny Prints are Here!
If you are new here then you don’t already know about my obsession with sending out Christmas cards with an updated family photo.
Before I had kids, I was that person who judged families for sending out cards with photos all over them. And then that all quickly changed once my first baby was born in November of 2010. Guess whose face was on the Christmas card that year?! Yeah. I don’t know why I was so judgey about getting cards with family photos. Lets chalk it up to being young and naive.
Fast forward to last week when I shopped for my annual Christmas cards on the Tiny Prints site the day after Thanksgiving. I curled up on the couch, coziest blanket, and a cup of hot coffee and started narrowing down my picks. I love the Tiny Prints site for its ease of use. I am able to shop swiftly and easily by selecting my parameters. I had four photos I wanted to include so I started with that as my first filter. Next, I wanted a flat card rather than a folded and these two filters gave me my narrowed down selection to begin my search.
There are more ways to narrow your selection down, but this was a good start for me. I also looked back to the designs I had selected in years past (saved to my account) for a good reminder on ways I can change it up this year.
I am OBSESSED with plaid right now. I just love the look of plaid ribbons, bows, tops, shoes, and blanket scarfs. It is a pretty popular trend and I had pops of it in the clothing we wore for our family photo shoot back in September.
As I scrolled through all the beautiful cards and saved some to “my favorites” I came across a simple and classic design incorporating black and red buffalo check. I kept looking, but in the back of my mind I knew I had already found THE ONE CARD for this year!
Without showing you our final card design – here is a sneak peek on my selection. I started sending out the nearly 100 cards this week to family and friends and I want them to see them first in hand!
I uploaded my photos, doubled checked all the details and selected a super classy envelop to go with my card design. I love how detailed and personalized you can really make these cards and envelops and at such an affordable price!
You can have a Tiny Prints designer look over your work if you want a second set of eyes to review your final card options before your order is put into production. I think this is so great because human error is human error. We all make mistakes sometimes and I can get easily distracted on the computer with my kiddos running around asking me 100 questions a minute. Life happens. It’s nice to know someone can review your work before you get your card in the mail and drop to the floor because you see you misspelled your own damn name!
If you are thinking about sending out some fab snail mail cards this year totally check out Tiny Prints and Shutterfly for awesomely beautiful and high quality cards. I’ve been using the brand for YEARS for birthday cards, Christmas cards, baptism and birth announcements. I have each and every card saved in our family memory box and they are little treasures of most memorable moments in our family history.
