Year in Review // 2017
2017 is coming to a close. Each year I like to reflect on how my blog evolved and what my readers liked most. I value what you think and like to build on what works best when looking forward into a new year.
I’ve had this blog for SEVEN years now. I’m proud of how the posts have evolved and how this has become a great way for my kids to look back and read about our adventures and have access to all their favorite recipes.
This year my blog got a major redesign. It had been long overdue and I’m so pleased with the layout and overall look. What do you think?
I have been more active on my social media building up my Instagram, Facebook and Twitter engagement. Do you follow me over there? I love to have quick chats and post quick pictures and video about what is going on in real time throughout our day.
I decided to focus more on four interests – FASHION – FOOD – FAMILY – LIFESTYLE. As my children get older, so do I, and with that our lifestyle has evolved. I’m able to find a bit more time to focus on myself in different ways as the kids get older. I started to come out of that long newborn and diapering fog and remember what my own needs and likes and goals are.
I have several popular recipes and posts here from the 2017 year. One recipe that seems to get traffic year after year is SALMON OREGANATA. That is from some two blog designs ago and when I had a weekly recipe swap. One of my blog goals for the new year is to bring back some link ups here so we can share posts! Definitely a recipe post swap in in the near future so get ready for that!
With my focus on lifestyle I include a lot of beauty. As my skin ages, I like to find products that work for me and share them with you. Long gone are the days I leave the house with a washed face and no makeup! I have a daily makeup routine that is quick (less than 10 minutes) that I usually don’t leave the house WITHOUT! Do you think you would want a video of me getting ready sharing my quick tips on how to use the products that are my go-to?
Fashion was a big one for me in 2017 too! I went through my closet last January and did a MAJOR purge. I said goodbye to all the maternity clothing, the nursing friendly tops, the old ratty things, and all the stuff that I just was NOT going to get into or wear ever again. From there I slowly started incorporating new pieces like jeans and tops and shoes that would incorporate into what was left of my closet. This whole process made it QUICK and easy for me to get out the door looking put together every day! For me, being dressed in clothes and having a fresh face really turns my day around. I just feel like I can get more done and have the energy to do what I need to do because I feel confident in how I look. Read more –> EASY EVERYDAY LOOKS FOR MOMS.
Living a more healthful lifestyle is something we are all focusing on. Reading labels, being aware of what we put in and on our bodies and trying to stay active seem to be a common goal for all. I like to start each New Year with a WHOLE 30 reset. I am gluten-free, but I just like to start anew with all bases covered, including my gut.
I started a WHOLE 30 Facebook group within my Facebook page. Here is the link to join so we can support one another and share recipes, struggles, tips, and food finds!
A very HAPPY and HEALTHY NEW YEAR to you!
