Easy Easter Wreath

March 11, 2013

Now that I have one yarn wrapped wreath under my belt it only felt right to make another. Easter is such a fun holiday to celebrate and the crafts and decorations are endless.

I headed to my local Michael’s and got my three supplies. I already had a hot glue gun in my craft stash. Total cost for supplies including a 40% coupon I had was around $10. Can’t beat that!

  1. 1 10 inch foam wreath form
  2. 1 bunch of yarn { I found an yarn that was kind of like ombre}
  3. 1 bag of colorful Easter eggs or decorations of your choice

Start with a dab of hot glue gun where you want to start your yarn. Then start wrapping. This is a nice mindless activity and its nice to go offline and relax for a time. There are plenty of interruptions in my house so this took a weekend from start to finish. When you get to the end add another dab of hot glue to secure the yarn. Add your embellishments and you can sit back and enjoy your masterpiece!

What I love most about this is that I created it. It looks super cute hanging on our door to welcome Spring and all the guests we have coming to visit over the next few weeks.  I’m pretty certain that this will be something G will like to make in the future. I’ll have to see if there is a small wreath form next time I go to the craft store.

So, what do you think? Will you give a yarn wrapped wreath a try?

    Adorable! That would look so cute on my front door, but I am really not crafty – do you take orders? 😉

    So, so pretty, and yet another great way to use up some of those plastic eggs in the garage that continue to multiply each year.
