Growing up, I have fond memories of National Geographic magazine arriving on my doorstep. I just loved looking at the beautiful photography and all the different people and place all over the world. Nothing compares to the gripping stories and spectacular imagery that National Geographic always delivers.
National Geographic is one of the world’s premier scientific, education, and research organizations. For more than 125 years, the National Geographic team has been dedicated to exploring and documenting the world. Their message reaches more than 450 million people worldwide, each month through several media outlets. The company has funded more than 10,000 conservation, exploration, and scientific expeditions in support of their mission “to inspire people to care about the planet.” As part of this mission, National Geographic also offers nonfiction books for both adults and kids to help educate and inspire. National Geographic is the leading kids nonfiction publisher, and each of their books is packed with photos, facts, and fun, offering the perfect balance of “edu-tainment” for kids and parents. If you’re looking to get your kids excited about learning, National Geographic books are a great place to start.
Now that I am a mom, I want my daughters to have those same types of memories. National Geographic has certainly come a long way and they have so many different types of publications including a variety of books and magazines for children of all ages.
Some of the books we received:
- National Geographic Kids Chapters: Best Friends Forever
- Everything Pets
- Almanac 2014
- Little Kid Fist Big Book of Why
- Just Joking 4
- Funny Fill In: My Animal Adventure
- Mother’s Love
- National Geographic Reader: Meerkats
- Ultimate Weird But True
Although some of these books are a bit advanced for my three year old, she thoroughly enjoys looking through the books on her own or while I read them to her. The colors are vivid, the text is large, the pictures are eye catching. It helps my toddler expand her imagination and keeps her asking questions about what things are as we turn each page. These books are keepsakes for sure and I will certainly hold on to them long after G is done with them so that Val can enjoy them too.
National Geographic Books are available wherever books are sold, including national book chains, online retailers, independent bookstores, discount wholesale clubs, toy stores, specialty retailers, and more.
