Coordinating Your Family Photo Fashion
Today is so exciting for me! I booked a family photo shoot and the day is finally here. I’ve been talking about it for a while now and finally got my other half on board. The last time we had a family photo taken, Gabriella was just six months old. A lot has changed since then and I really want a beautiful picture of the five of us. I’m always taking the picture so I’m rarely in a shot with all my kids unless its a selfie!
Fall is pretty much in full swing here in Connecticut and the leaves are changing all the beautiful colors. We live in a really awesome town that is close to several farms and we decided on this historical ram pasture for our photo. The temperature today is forecasted to be around 64 degrees which is a great temp for fall fashion.
I don’t often shop at Old Navy, but being the procrastinator I am, it was the first store open on Sunday, yes, yesterday and I was one of those people waiting outside the door at 10am. I had to get clothing and shoes for 5 people and had limited time. Thankfully, I shopped alone because it was overwhelming to think about what we could wear with nothing in mind.
- Pick a location.
- Pick a color.
- Avoid crazy patterns. Keep the parents neutral and the kids in brighter colors.
- Mix it up. Avoid everyone in the same color shirt and pants. No jeans and white shirts. Blah.
- Wear a lip color that pops!
I must say, Old Navy has really stepped up the fashion. They had tons of cute things for the kids and that is where I started. I wanted a more casual look and plaid had to be in the equation. I love love love plaid right now.
After I found the kids outfits I grabbed a few things for TJ to try on. I couldn’t really find anything for myself. I need petite sizes and there wasn’t anything petite for me besides jeans. So, I shopped at Ann Taylor Loft which always has something I love!
Here is what I came up with from my Old Navy shop.
