Marvelous in My Monday #MIMM
What a whirlwind the past few days have been. I *think* we had a weekend but it all happened so fast just felt like more Mondays. Does that make sense?
Friday Gabriella came home from school and I got her right into the bathroom. There was a lot of chatter in the halls during pickup and it was about LICE. Apparently there was a student in another class who had it GAH. I found an email about it *better check that more during school days* I had gotten earlier in the day. I’m so glad for some LICE solution that I had gotten at a blogger conference and quickly put it to work in G’s hair. Thankfully, we are LICE free here and I hope it stays that way for the rest of our lives! OMG!
Saturday Gabriella had dance at 8:30am. Things are getting real up in the dance studio as the May recital is literally right around the corner. I really love that early hour – I have met some fab moms and we have an hour to sip hot coffee and commiserate over our week. Plus – WIFI! 🙂
After dance we circled back home to pick up Valentina. Since it was the first Saturday of the month it was also kid project day at the Home Depot. We hardly ever miss a month – the girls won’t let us forget.
Before we got to Home Depot we made a quick stop by one of the elementary schools to pick up Gabriella’s soccer uniform! Yep – she is all signed up for Spring soccer. She took a quick week long soccer camp last summer and hasn’t stopped talking about how she loved it so knowing dance was done for summer come May, we could add an activity. I’m looking to buy a set of soccer nets for our yard – any suggestions?
Sunday was waiting to meet with a potential contractor to do some work around here. Then a massive shopping trip to get groceries for the week. Still using the cash budget that I’ve talked about before. We are sticking to it and with me being diligent planning meals it has been working GREAT!
Sunday afternoon I spent cooking and baking. I made two giant loaves of pumpkin bread and four pounds of meatballs. Mondays are crazy with G in school and swimming so leftovers are a must.
Today we had some freak snow/rain/ice and that cause a school delay this morning. We also had a painter come start painting the kitchen. What the heck do you do with kids when your kitchen is being painted and the weather sucks?! I have no idea!
More paint tomorrow and frigid temperatures. I think we will be watching a lot of movies!
I need to pick a new light for my kitchen because we have one of those junky boob lights. I don’t know the technical term for it, but its ugly and looks like a boob hanging in the middle of the kitchen. We have recessed lights around the perimeter, so I don’t need something that is super bright – its basically just extra lighting.
I hope you have a great week. I’ll show you some before and after of the kitchen once it is complete!
