Mommy-hood is Life’s Greatest Balancing Act // Giveaway

Every day is a balancing act. From the moment I place my feet on the floor after getting out of bed – it all feels like a race. There are many days when I feel like I’m all alone, but I have to remind myself that there are other mom’s starting and ending their days the same way.
Between over-packed schedules and play-dates, sticky messes, never ending laundry and clean ups, late nights and early morning wakeup calls, we’ve been through it all. Somedays it may seem the minute you even start thinking about a little “me” time, disaster strikes, and that’s only when everyone in the household is healthy! Add a sick little one to the mix and nothing else seems to matter.
We’ve had our share of colds and viruses go through here over the past few years. Once my oldest started preschool it seemed to be a never ending roller coaster of illness. At the time, I had her newborn sister who was catching all the *sick* she was bringing home. And, once I had Anthony, I had all three sick at the same time because if one gets sick it is a sure bet they all are going down. Just this past February we had two bouts of strep throat with all three kids and it was AWFUL. Lots of meds, lots of discomfort, lots of sleep loss and irritability.
Caring for three kids who are sick around the clock like that made me feel anxious, exhausted, and helpless. I was giving them antibiotics with the hopes it would cure the strep throat, but it was out of my hands and that made me feel so frustrated. No one wants to see their kids sick.
Plus, I wasn’t taking care of myself. I have to keep myself healthy so I can care for them. It becomes a crazy cycle and you just hope for the light at the end of the tunnel and for your kids to feel well. That is all you want. Like a rainbow after a storm.
