PreK Graduation // On To Kindergarten
Gabriella graduated from her preschool a week ago Wednesday. We gathered with her friends and their families along with some of the teachers for a small ceremony celebrating their milestone moment.
The small class of eight played instruments for us with their music teacher and performed a few songs with their beloved preK teacher.
Gabriella was super excited to graduate, but is certainly feeling bittersweet about no longer going to her small-town preschool. Of the eight in her class not all will be going to the same elementary school and just one is in her kindergarten class. A new chapter of life certainly will begin September 1st when she rides the bus to school and transitions from three days of school to 5 (full-day kindergarten).
She is excited! There are a few opportunities over the summer to meet up with classmates and make new friendships and she looks forward to those days.
She is REALLY excited to get a new backpack and lunchbox – the catalogs have already started coming in the mail and she is saving them and circling the different designs she likes! LOL
Gabriella has made some huge strides over the past year. She can write her letters, put letters together to form some words, knows her numbers, and the biggest milestone is watching her begin to read! She has a huge love of books just like her Daddy and can sit and look at different books for long periods of time. When we go to the library she grabs a bunch of books and sits quietly turning the pages while her brother and sister play with the toys. She has always been like this so I imagine her love of reading just exploding in the next few years.
Val will be attending the same place as she enters preschool this September. Gabriella is already filling her in on all the different teachers and activities and fun she will have with her friends. Knowing that Val will be there seems to give Gabriella some peace knowing she can visit again.
Jumping ahead to when both girls are in the same school in a few years, riding the bus together has G’s mind going crazy! She cannot wait to have Val with her at school! I say, lets slow it all down!
