Planning a Mermaid Themed Birthday Party
What on earth guys! Valentina is turning four next month – time to plan her special birthday party! Remember when she turned one? Then last year she turned three – but now FOUR! That is just one year away from kindergarten!
::Sigh::
I am so overjoyed that my Valentina has a summer birthday. I don’t have a summer birthday, February, and my other two kids have November birthdays. Indoor parties are basically the only deal during those months here in Connecticut.
But June! June is warm – even HOT – and after a long winter that is fine by me and most everyone else in New England. I get to plan an outdoor event and use our amazing backyard!
I am planning a mermaid themed birthday party for my lady. I invited her closest girlfriends for a very over the top girly party. She is my child who is into all the girly things. Princesses, mermaids, fairy tales, pink and purple, glitter on everything, twirly dresses and painted nails. She wants it to be glam and over the top all the time.
I am really keeping my fingers crossed for a beautiful June day. I’m hosting her party earlier in the month than her actual birthdate because Father’s Day and Fourth of July and her birthday in between both.
I have found so many amazing things so far at the Target dollar spot! Check it out…
And then I had to look on Amazon of course. I wanted to get each guest one party favor rather than a bunch of little toy/candy/junk things. I found these adorable plush mermaid dolls – now, do I get each guest the same doll or do I buy a variety? I was hoping to place a doll at each place setting. They have so many to choose from and they are all so cute!
I picked up the dress, necklace and flip flops at Hanna Anderson a few weeks back when I went for the grand opening event. that was when I decided on the theme!
We had a face painter come for Gabriella’s fourth birthday a few years ago and I thought it would be great fun to have her come back for Val’s party. A good friend of mine is making a mermaid cake and I know it will just be gorgeous!
I plan on setting up on our patio so I really can’t wait to see this all come together. Val is very excited for her first *friend* birthday party – we usually keep parties to family when the kids are young.
