We had such a fun time this past Monday! We drove to the LEGOLAND in Westchester which is about an hour drive from door to door. We didn’t tell the kids where we were headed so once we arrived and they saw the big LEGOLAND sign they went crazy.
We arrived shortly just after they opened around 10:30 and started to explore. It was so nice to take the kids to a place where they all could get interactive with the exhibits and ride every single ride!
As soon as we entered their was a spot to take a quick family photo, and after that was the first ride, Kingdom Quest – The captured Princess needs your help! Hop aboard your chariot on the Kingdom Quest ride to rescue her. All 5 of us were able to ride in one car which was great since our kids are still fairy young. We all had a blast (literally) trying to save the princess!
Next we walked through the Miniland – built with over 1.5 million bricks it was amazing to see real life building miniaturized. Several of the exhibits were interactive allowing for us to put legos to work like a using different levers to operate a crane more.
From Miniland we explored a huge room that had several different attractions including a BUILD & TEST track, NINJA GO CITY ADVENTURE, EARTHQUAKE TABLES, DUPLO VILLAGE, LEGO FRIENDS, and MERLIN’S APPRENTICE RIDE.
The earthquake tables were so much fun for us. T.J. and I took the controls of how the lego boards were tipping from side to side while the kids tried to build. The girls tried their agility on the Ninja Go which was basically an obstacle course. While the girls climbed their way through the course Anthony and I explored the Duplo Village where he had a blast building with big soft bricks unlike we’d ever seen.
Merlin’s Apprentice ride was another fun ride that all my kids could ride since they all are over the 3 foot minimum. T.J. took them each for one ride while I waved them on and took pictures!
We skipped the 4D movie because the next show was in about 25 minutes and the kids were starting to get hungry for lunch. My husband and oldest wanted to check out the Star Wars Mini Model display before we headed out to get lunch.
We had such a great time and the kids can’t wait to go back. Another fun adventure that we’ve checked off on our summer bucket list this year! If you are close way of New York or Connecticut LEGOLAND Discovery Center Westchester is a great day trip. This particular location is part of a huge outdoor mall with tons of shop and restaurants so there is plenty to do while you visit.
