New Addition to My Skincare Routine
What does your skincare routine look like?
For me, it’s a combination of face wash, micellar cleansing water (if I am washing off makeup), a serum, eye cream, and moisturizer. GASP – my aging skin needs care. I switch up my face wash depending on my skins needs and my moisturizer too – one for day and one for night. I also use an exfoliator a few times a week and a mask or treatment.
My skin seems to be always changing. Sometimes it is feeling more dry in areas and sometimes it feels oily. I find the weather here really causes some major fluctuation with my skin and how I treat it. For the past five days we have had hot and humid conditions, so our AC is on which really dries out the house and my skin. By the end of this week the weather will be drastically different when the crips Fall air comes in full force – again making my skin feel drier than I’d like it.
Keeping my skin balanced is tricky with these changes in weather.
I started a new serum that has hyaluronic acid in it. This ingredient is huge in the beauty industry right now. I’m sure you might have heard about it?
Hyaluronic acid, a powerful hydrating molecule, can hold 1,000 times its weight in water.
StriVectin’s NEW Hyaluronic Dual-Response Serum is deeply hydrating and works to prevent water loss in the skin leaving radiant, glowing skin. When our skin is dry and dehydrated the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles is magnified. I DO NOT want that. Especially when I am putting on concealer and foundation – I don’t want the makeup to get into the lines. GAH! You know what i’m talking about?
It is simple to use. Just apply to clean face in AM and PM before moisturizer, avoiding the eye area. I usually apply a serum anyway so I’ve switched out the one I used over the summer for this with the hopes it will truly keep my skin hydrated as we change seasons. This serum has a mild scent so if you are sensitive to perfumes you may want to try a serum that is unscented. So far so good – I will update this post as I continue the use of the product. I have noticed some dry areas that I struggle with are getting smaller! Yay!
This product retails for $79 for 1 oz, but my bet is this bottle will last me 2-3 months because I only use a small pea size for my face day and night. I truly feel that if you find a product you love that really works for your skin, you shouldn’t hold back on buying it.
I’d love to hear about your skincare routine. The good, the bad, the ugly. It is never too late to make changes to your skincare routine. I know we can easily get stuck in a rut with these kinds of things!
