Stocking Stuffers for the Kids
I am so far behind on Christmas shopping this year! I feel panicked! I am usually in a pretty good place this close to Christmas Eve, but this year I just got sidetracked and the time slipped by!
I am *almost* finished decorating inside and outside. So I feel like that is a huge accomplishment, right? Kids are pumped and have made no less than 57890 Christmas lists. Each time a new catalog is delivered to the mail box a new list is written. I honestly have NO IDEA what my kids even want anymore! I’m like what is the ONE thing you want Santa to bring? And then it goes on and on and on. My oldest (7 years old) has things on her list like a cotton candy machine, a pottery wheel, ANOTHER Hatcnhimal (we already have one) a beginners science lab, and every single arts and crafts kit made!
I feel like my kids are so all over the place with their wish list that I could just go down the aisle of Toys R Us and dump one of everything into the cart. I’m going to have to once again TRY and narrow it down TONIGHT to a top 10 because I NEED TO SHOP.
Any who! You know what my favorite items to shop for are? Stocking stuffers! I feel like this is where the unexpected gifts are hidden. All the cool little treasures and maybe some sweet treats too. I shop year round for these items. I keep a bag hidden in the side of the basement my kids would never go filled with all the things I find. You know what I like to get in my stocking as an adult? Lottery scratchers! HAHA! Not something I would every buy, but fun to play every once in awhile.
So, this year here is a sampling of what I’m stuffing into the Christmas stockings.
Melissa & Doug Scratch Art Rainbow Mini Notes (125 ct) With Wooden Stylus – my kids love these scratch off books and at ages 3, 4, and 7 they can all easily manage scratching off the coating to make a note or artwork.
Christmas Fun Mad Libs: Deluxe Stocking Stuffer Edition – My oldest loves MAD LIBS. Did you fill in these books when you were younger? A total time hop and still lots of tech-free fun!
Invisable ink pen marker secret spy message writer with uv light – Our school sold these at the book fair and holiday gift shop and all the kids went crazy! I think these pens are super cool! Remember writing notes and folding them up into origami shapes to keep the message a secret?!
Piggy Paint 100% Non-toxic Girls Nail Polish – my girls are SO INTO beauty. They want a fresh manicure more than I can keep up! I don’t even paint my own nails as often as they do! We love this stuff.
Bag of Reindeer Farts Cotton Candy – This peppermint flavored cotton candy is just too funny! And, my kids are hysterical with the mention of poop or farts!
Original Slinky Brand Slinky – a classic old fashioned toy!
Rubik’s Cube – Quite possibly the original figit toy? I added one of these to my daughter’s birthday loot in November and all of us have been taking turns trying to get the colors right!
Barrel of Monkey’s – Fun monkey game challenges you to pick up monkeys and build a parade to win.
Tiddlywinks – These games are such a blast from the past and now my kids are coming of age where they can enjoy them! One of the most entertaining games ever invented!
Playskool Mr. Potato Head – My kids love these guys. We have a bunch in a toy bin and every so often they will get them out and make all kinds of wild combinations!
Crayola 24 Ct. Silly Scents Mini Twistables Scented Crayons – if you are done with kids peeling the paper off all the crayons then you need to buy these!
