Fashion Find Kids Edition // Dapper + Crown
Happy Monday lovelies! I hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend! We kept things super chill here yesterday as it was THE FIRST Sunday since September that we had NO PLANS. We got dressed late, and lazied around inside for most of the day. I took the kids outside for an hour or so and they helped me get one of my flower beds turned over and weeded. We ate leftover for dinner! I just had no desire to get dressed and ready and head out to do another thing. It was nice to just stay home and set the pace for once.
I had some special Mother’s Day teas, yes more than one, at the preschool Anthony and Val attend. On Thursday I celebrated with Anthony and his class and on Friday I celebrated with Valentina. It was nice to spend that hour with them while they sang songs and served us some homemade cakes and sweet tea they worked so hard to make. I didn’t leave empty handed either as I was given the best homemade gifts from each of them.
Valentina wanted to get dressed up in a “pretty” dress for her Mother’s Day tea celebration. I was so excited I had just received the most perfect dress for a tea from Dapper + Crown Clothing Co.! I had chosen the Willow dress for both of my girls a week earlier and the package was at my door within just a couple of days. When the dresses arrived they were adorably packaged and I could not wait for the first occasion the girls could wear them. Valentina’s day was our Mother’s Day tea! It was a bit chilly for Spring last Thursday so I paired the Willow dress with a classic button down chambray shirt. This dress is so versatile I imagine there will be lots of different ways we can style it as Spring and Summer progress.
Layered over our Fiona blouse or floating free, this jump-skirt is perfect year-round. The Willow is a joy to wear; sophisticated without being fussy, and fun without restrictions featuring a classic ruffled trim and a crossed back.
How freaking cute is this! I mean, Valentina is my beautiful lady, but this little yellow number is a stunner especially on her! The compliments were flying when she wore this to preschool for our Mother’s Day tea. The Willow dress is made of a super soft cotton corduroy which makes it perfect for layering. I imagine her wearing it on a hot summer day with a cute flowered tank top. I like the girls to wear small white bike shorts under their dresses because they are still learning to sit “like a lady” plus they like to climb and play! The straps on the Willow button in the back too so you can adjust them accordingly.
Dapper + Crown has classic pieces perfect for spring, and made in the USA. The size range is 2 – 6 with an MSRP range of $55 – $75. This family owned business was created to produce classic, investment pieces that can be shared within the family, just like designer mom Yves Homan did in her homeland of the Philippines. Each style is made with love and the utmost of care so they can be worn and loved by families for years to come. There are beautiful pieces for girls that can be dressed up or down; Sunday clothes for every day.
These dresses are part of those items I’m accumulating in a special trunk as keepsakes for the future of our family. I’m so impressed with the classic styling and attention to detail. I imagine sharing these dresses with my daughters daughters!
