5 Ways to Have A Great Mom’s Night Out

This post is sponsored by Poise ® but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

Summer nights! So many options like eating al fresco at your favorite resturant, heading out for spur of the moment cocktails, or just inviting your friends over for a chill mom’s night out on the patio.

Summer tends to give our schedules more flexibility leaving us more time for fun activities! Once the kids are in school our schedule becomes pretty rigid and here in Connecticut winter is long and can often leave us house bound. I like to live summer to the fullest as much as I can and that includes making the most of time with other Mom’s who feel the same!

Here are my top 5 ways to have a great mom’s night out!

Keep it simple. Invite five or so of your closest girlfriends over for some summer cocktails and appetizers. Have each of your guest bring their favorite drink and you provide the apps. Set the time to meet for when the kids are in bed too. Keep those kiddos busy all day so they go right to sleep. After a day of swimming or hanging at the beach my kids are beat. That way you can relax kid-free while you enjoy your drinks, conversation and yummy food bites.

Your mom’s night doesn’t have to be a weekend night either. I love that my summer nights are activity-free. No dance class, soccer practice or anything else. Any night will do.

If you are thinking about it – plan it! Don’t wait. There is no doubt other mom’s are thinking the same thing and will jump at the chance to get together.

Pick a theme! The 80s and 90s are making a comeback in a big way. Not sure I’m into wearing overalls or acid wash jeans on a regular day, but it would be fun for a theme party! You can find clothes just about anywhere to dress the part because the 90s have come back! I grew up in both of these decades and man oh man – looking back is just priceless in every way. The clothes, the hair, the makeup! Whoa! Have everyone bring some pictures from those years to share too! How fun to take a walk down memory lane and see what everyone else was up to and their style. Have a pajama theme that way when everyone goes home you are ready for bed!

Try a new resturant in town that everyone has been wanting to try! I love this because everyone can order a different meal or app and you can line them down the table family style. That way you can sample different items from the menu rather than one dish!

What I love best about a good mom’s night out is that I get to talk to adults, and laugh until I cry. Both of those things make me a better mom the next day and in the days to come. Sometimes when I have a girl’s night, I need extra protection because we are constantly laughing. Thankfully I have Poise to make sure I am covered!

Poise Light Absorbency Pads Ultra Thin-Flex technology allows the pad to move seamlessly with your body and the Leak Block sides help prevent leaks • Up to 40 percent thinner than regular Poise pads, they have maximum absorbency and an Absorb-Loc core to quickly lock away wetness and odor • Provide odor control, dryness and comfort.

After three births my body can sometimes play tricks on me! Laughing too hard during a fun mom’s night out I want to be sure I don’t have to leave early due to an incident from LBL. I wish I had know about Poise after birth too because Poise Pads are 10X drier than the leading period pad – perfect for maternity pads for women after birth who experience postpartum or heavier bladder leakage! Forget those giant things from the hospital! Grab a pack of these and pop them into your hospital bag before you go into labor!

You can grab Poise from Walmart either shopping in-store or using their easy online grocery pickup option. Order everything online and pick it up without going into the store! A mom’s dream if you despise food shopping as much as I do.
