Gift Ideas for an Eight Year Old Girl
The next seven days here are going to be a nonstop celebration.
Let’s start with Halloween which is tomorrow. Shortly after tomorrow, on Sunday, my oldest and first born is turning EIGHT. Then just three days after she turns EIGHT, my youngest turns FOUR. If you have been on this journey with me you know that I started this blog shortly before Gabriella’s first birthday. So, my blog had a birthday too and I’ve been consistently evolving and growing this little space of mine for eight years! It is crazy to believe, but I’m so glad to see how this space has evolved and become a keepsake of memories for my family.
I’m here today chatting up ideas to gift an eight year old. I have been doing a major purge of kids items over the month of October and have really thinned the toys out. My five year old and almost four year old still love to play with certain toys, but Gabriella at almost eight has really moved on from toys altogether. I swear at eight I was still playing with Barbie. She will play with her sister and the Barbies or American Girl dolls for a bit, but you won’t find her playing alone with anything. She mostly reads. She still likes to be creative with pens, markers, and craft supplies and of course electronics are big.
I haven’t bought her anything yet and her birthday is Sunday. I walked through the mall today with Anthony and we looked around but nothing was jumping out at me. I’m not wanting to gift her things like slime and squishies because I might as well just light the cash on fire or throw it out the window. Been there, done that and it all ends up in the trash.
So the more I’ve thought about it over the past week and looked online at odd hours of the night when I’m unable to sleep I’ve come up with a few things that I think she will like! Christmas is right around the corner too so anything we don’t buy now can always carry over to the Christmas list!
L.O.L. Surprise! Pets Series 4 (2-Pack) Dolls – My girls love these surprise dolls and they actually play with them and carry them out in their little purses so I’m OK buying this tiny surprise toys. Plus, they are CUTE! We have a pretty big collection.
Custom Name Necklace Personalized – I love the idea of a simple piece of jewelry for my girls on their birthday. They have pierced ears too so I often like to gift them a new pair of earrings, but I am loving a personalized necklace for Gabriella. This one is nice and dainty perfect for her age. I know she will love it!
Just My Style ABC Beads Bracelet Kit – Gabriella is already way into the Rainbow Loom kits and making all the different patterned bracelets for everyone she knows. I love that this kit has letter beads to elevate her jewelry making level and make it personalized. I’ll probably grab this EMOJI bracelet kit too. I’d rather see her spending her free time crafting and creating then staring at a screen.
Echo Dot Kids Edition, a smart speaker with Alexa for kids – Valentina got this for her fifth birthday this summer and the girls share a room, but they both love Alexa for different reasons. A great gift for any kid at any age. Anthony and Val love to listen to Disney Stories and listen to Alexa tell silly jokes. They can play all their favorite music too and I can control it all from the app on my phone. Your purchase includes 1 year of FreeTime Unlimited gives you access to over 300 Audible books for kids, like Beauty & the Beast and Peter Pan, thousands of songs, and kid-favorite games and skills from Disney, National Geographic, Nickelodeon, and more. Easy-to-use parental controls in the online Amazon Parent Dashboard let you set daily time limits, review activity, or pause Alexa on the device.
Piggy Paint – 100% Non-toxic Girls Nail Polish – my girls LOVE to paint their nails and since I want them to be able to do so without worrying I love Piggy Paint. Gabriella could use some new colors in her stash and this is a great option with six colors in the set.
UGG Kids – A new pair of shoes is always fun for my girls! These boots were a bit of an early birthday gift because I couldn’t wait for her to have them. Its already pretty cold here in Connecticut and my kids sill love the UGGs to keep their feet warm. I can’t blame them! I love all the new styles and Gabriella loves the look and style of this boot. Can be rolled up for a different look too! Great deal right now as they are on sale for 15% off! They run true to size.
Walkie Talkies – with a two mile range Gabriella could easy chat with her friends in the neighborhood! Love that they include a flashlight too for those summer camp outs in the backyard!
Crazy to think this chic of mine is turning 8! We are having her birthday party for friends next weekend. I hope she has a fun time and remembers every minute of her special day. Looking forward to hearing about what resturant she picks for our family birthday dinner.
