Calming Mealtime Chaos During the Holiday Season with Red Baron
This post is sponsored by Red Baron but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.
According to a new Red Baron survey 1 of 1,000 U.S. moms of kids ages 3-17, more than half of moms agree that having pizza is one of the only things that will settle the mealtime chaos in their home! What do you say is true for your home? I know that my kids look forward to Friday night pizza night here. It is a sure bet everyone is going to have a smile on their face during dinner time. I don’t have to stress about what to make because we know that pizza is on the menu! It’s been like this for years now and really takes the stress off my Friday night!
We mix it up all the time when it comes to Friday night pizza. Sometimes we order from our local favorite pizza resturant, sometimes we make it at home from scratch, sometimes I grab what looks good in the frozen aisle of the market. I always like to keep a variety of frozen pizza’s stashed away for a night that dinner time might get away from me and we need something quick.
This week I knew Thanksgiving was coming up. I knew myself long with so many others who might have been shopping and getting ready to cook and host the holiday did not want to also have to worry about dinner on the nights leading up to Thanksgiving. The holidays are so joyful but can always easily become a stressor. I had ever mentioned to my husband that the dinners before yesterday’s feast would be meh at best.
I didn’t think twice to reach for a Red Baron pizza the night of Thanksgiving eve! I had been in the kitchen all day cooking all the side dishes. I made brussels sprouts with bacon, mashed potatoes, and stuffing. I was so done with the prep and cooking and cleaning. I needed the night off and pizza was just the thing. I mean who wants to cook the night before hosting a holiday? Not me! I wanted some time to sit with the kids and talk about what they were looking forward to most about Thanksgiving and what they were thankful for. I wanted a peaceful mealtime before our house was full of guest the next day. I love to host, and I look forward to this time of year the most, but a quiet pizza night with my little family is what makes me the happiest.
Red Baron pizza comes in a variety of options like classic crust, brick oven, thin and crispy and deep dish. There are also a variety of toppings including the classic pepperoni and cheese. From the time I preheated the oven to the time it cooked the pizza the kids were eating in about fifteen minutes. Cook your pizza according to package directions. Our box recommended an oven at 450 degrees and a cooking time of 9-10 minutes. I served the pizza with a bunch of chopped raw veggies and their favorite dressing and they were totally happy and satisfied.
Maybe your in-laws dropped by unexpectedly and you needed a last-minute dinner option everyone would enjoy. Or maybe you finished a long stretch of travel and you’re exhausted but the kids are starving. While the holidays are a special time, it can be chaotic – which is where Red Baron can help!
