The Key to at Home Dry Cleaning – Dryel
Maybe you’ve recently purchased some new items lately for an upcoming holiday party or holiday event? Maybe you wore a favorite top over the Thanksgiving holiday that is dry clean only? Let me tell you a story about my Thanksgiving and one of my favorite tops!
I hosted Thanksgiving this year. I was cooking all day Wednesday in my comfy clothes and woke up Thursday ready to cook the rest. I had to cook the turkey and the mashed potatoes and that would be it! Thanksgiving dinner would be complete and ready for my guests.
I didn’t get myself ready until about a half hour before my guests were due to arrive. I planned on wearing jeans, but with one of my favorite white tops to dress up my look a bit. The potatoes were done, and the turkey had more time to go in the oven so it wasn’t like I was into heavy cooking anymore. I just had to baste the turkey every thirty to forty five minutes until it’s cooked through and that’s about it.
I got myself all dressed, my hair was looking great and makeup was on point too. I was really feeling good about everything and just had to keep the kids busy and the turkey basted until my guests arrived. Well, don’t you know I kept saying to my husband, “I wonder how long I can keep this top clean today.” He thought I was nuts for wearing a white shirt, but I figured why not, right. Well, I didn’t put on an apron. I really need to invest in one ASAP after this ordeal.
It was time to baste the turkey and I put on my oven mitts, slide the turkey out of the oven and on to the top of the stove, and then started to baste it. The first shot of liquids out of the turkey baster went all over the front of my top! It happened in slow motion like when you see something happening but can’t do a darn thing to help it. I looked down at my top and gasped. I mean, I certainly had plenty of other things to wear, but now I had to quickly do some damage control on my top that is dry clean only! I was almost certain this white top had met its doom. Thankfully I have a DRYEL at home dry cleaning kit on hand.
I ran into the laundry room and grabbed the DRYEL Stain Pen! This handy pen includes extra cleaning agents to remove stains, and add freshness to heavily soiled areas prior to putting the garments through the in-dryer system. I let that set for a good while because I had to get back to Thanksgivng prep.
That night after everyone left I returned to my sad, soiled shirt. The DRYEL Stain Pen had thankfully lifted most of the mess that shot out of the turkey baster. Now I could run it through the complete DRYEL process.
I am so thankful for this at home dry-cleaning system. I imagine my shirt would have been as good as trash if I had to wait to bring it into the cleaners. It would have been days before I had found one in town that was open with the holiday. I didn’t want to chance washing the top in the washer because that can easily lead to stretching/shrinking/fading. My top came out of the DRYEL bag like brand new. Not one spot or smell on it and without any damage to the fit. I am so glad I can still get some good wear out of my favorite white top!
If strongly suggest keeping a DRYEL at home dry-cleaning kit on hand in case you run into a similar situation. I could even help out a guest at my home if one of their items became soiled from food! You just never know!
