The Southern Living Party Cookbook
The sun is shinning and it really feels like Spring today. Just a few days ago temperatures were in the minus degree range, like minus 20 degrees with wind, ice, and dark cold days. So weird to have a warm day like this, but I will gladly take it and enjoy every minute.
I though it would be perfect to share a new cookbook I’ve been reading and reviewing while I long for the warmer days spent on the deck and patio with friends and family. That is truly my favorite time of year. My kids running around in the yard, a warm breeze, and eating outside is my idea of the perfect chill time.
Let me start off by saying The Southern Living Party Cookbook: A Modern Guide to Gathering is just stunning. It is a great piece to showcase on your cookbook stand in your kitchen. I don’t have any cookbooks with these types of recipes so it is a welcomed addition to my collection. I still love cookbooks even though you can search Google for any recipe. I’ve been collecting them for years, long before T.J. and I were even married. I loved to read recipes and really love when the cookbooks also contain stories and tips for entertaining. I love to see the beautiful photos of the finished recipes to inspire my own creativity with how I present my version of the dish or drink.
There are certain rules every party planning connoisseur should know. Your guests are your friends, not your enemies. They’re just grateful to be included. The more relaxed you are, the more fun your guests will have. The people make the party. Not the food, flowers, or quality of your bathroom guest towels. RELAX!
We can all get overwhelmed hosting the perfect party, forgetting this simple advice!
